Bing Webmaster Tools
Connect Bing Webmaster Tools to track rankings and indexing status on Bing.
Last updated August 31, 2026
Connecting Bing Webmaster Tools extends AEO Goal’s rank tracking and site health data to the Bing search engine - important because Microsoft Copilot draws heavily on Bing index data for its AI answers.
Why Bing matters for AEO
Microsoft Copilot (formerly Bing Chat) is one of the major AI engines AEO Goal tracks for citations. Copilot uses Bing’s search index to source answers, so ranking well on Bing directly improves your chances of being cited by Copilot. Bing Webmaster Tools integration gives you the indexing and ranking data needed to optimize for Copilot citations.

What Bing Webmaster unlocks
Rank Tracking:
- Bing organic rankings for your tracked keywords (alongside Google)
- Filter rank tracking by engine (Google only, Bing only, or both)
Indexing:
- Which of your pages Bing has indexed
- Crawl errors specific to Bing’s crawler
- Pages blocked or excluded from Bing’s index
Keyword data:
- Bing search queries that send traffic to your site
- Click-through rate on Bing for your top queries
Bing vs. Google in AEO
Bing’s crawler and index work differently from Google’s:
- Bing crawls less frequently - page updates may take longer to be reflected
- Bing weighs social signals (LinkedIn, Twitter/X) more than Google
- Bing’s structured data support is similar to Google’s for FAQ and HowTo schema
For maximum Copilot citation potential, ensure your llms.txt and structured data are in place, as these directly influence how Copilot sources answers. See llms.txt.
