Ask AI is AEO Goal’s conversational analytics interface. Instead of navigating dashboards, you can ask plain-English questions and get answers directly from your data.

Starting a conversation

  1. Click the Ask AI icon in the left sidebar (speech bubble icon), or use the keyboard shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + K.
  2. Type your question.
  3. Press Enter.

Example questions

Share of Model & Citations:

  • “What’s my Share of Model this month compared to last month?”
  • “Which AI engine cites me most often?”
  • “What’s my average citation position on ChatGPT?”

Prompts & competitors:

  • “Which prompts am I losing to HubSpot?”
  • “How many decision-stage prompts am I winning?”
  • “Show me all prompts where Perplexity mentioned a competitor but not me”

Content & rankings:

  • “Which blog posts have earned citations since I published them?”
  • “What keywords am I ranking in positions 4-10?”
  • “Which pages have the highest backlink growth this week?”

Cross-metric:

  • “Are the keywords I rank well for the same topics where AI engines cite me?”
  • “Which topics am I strong on in traditional SEO but weak in AI citations?”

Threads

Conversations are organized into threads - a thread is a sequence of related questions and answers. To start a new topic, click New Thread. Previous threads are saved in the Ask AI history panel.

Exporting answers

Click Export on any response to download the underlying data as a CSV, or copy the AI-generated summary as text.

Limitations

Ask AI can only access data that exists in your AEO Goal account. It cannot browse the web, access competitor data you haven’t added, or predict future performance. For questions about industry benchmarks, it may note that the data isn’t available.
