Markets & Languages

Configure market and language settings to track AI visibility in multiple countries and languages.

Last updated August 31, 2026

AEO Goal tracks AI citations and prompt responses for specific markets and languages. Configuring markets correctly ensures your Share of Model data reflects the audience that matters to your brand.

What is a market?

A market is a combination of country and language that determines which version of AI engine results are tracked. AI engines often return different citations for the same prompt depending on the user’s locale, so tracking the right market is essential for accurate competitive data.

Configuring markets for a brand

  1. Go to Brand Settings (click the brand name, then Settings).
  2. Click Markets.
  3. Click Add market.
  4. Select a Country and Language.
  5. Click Add.

You can track multiple markets per brand. Each market’s data appears as a separate filter in Citations, Share of Model, and Prompts views.

Primary market

The first market you add becomes the primary market - the default used in dashboard summaries and API responses when no market is specified.

To change the primary market:

  1. Go to Brand Settings → Markets.
  2. Click next to the market you want to make primary.
  3. Click Set as primary.

Prompt tracking by market

Tracked prompts run against all active markets for a brand. To view results by market, use the Market filter at the top of the Prompts or Citations views.

Credit consumption and markets

Each market doubles AI answer check usage for tracked prompts. If you’re on a limited plan, be selective about which markets you track. See Usage & Credits for details.

Removing a market

  1. Go to Brand Settings → Markets.
  2. Click next to the market.
  3. Click Remove.

Removing a market stops future data collection for that market. Historical data is retained.
